Sustainable Development as a Human Principle, a Social Model in Tourism

Sustainable development is a reality of our society, given the urgent need to use resources efficiently turning to their ability of alternative benefits. Whether it is a profitable activity or a personal action plan, man is faced with the situation of choosing just for him and for society. The purpose of this paper is to present a social model based on the proposal of human principles as foundation for society and for sustainable development applicable in tourism. Using as a research tool the questionnaire, the study reveals how these human values contribute to the society and tourism sustainable development.

Addressing of local museum tourism from the perspective of applied research for local museums

The National Institute for Research and Development in Tourism, Bucharest elaborated, between March and September 2015, a research study regarding cultural tourism development at national level through the local museums and memorial houses. Within this research it was tried to emphasize the way in which the Romanian local museums and memorial houses are prepared to participate in the Romanian cultural tourism development and to find solutions to integrate the local museums and the memorials houses in the tourist circuit. It was also observed that there exist the needs to create an image of the localities through the existence of these cultural institutions. The aim of this research study is to demonstrate the need of inter museum exchange at the local, national and international level, regarding mobility and heritage specialists; promoting partnerships with: education, research, academic, affiliated or linked cultural and creative industries, media trusts, and construction companies involved in urban regeneration projects, or community development. The general objectives were connected particularly to two major issues that define local museums, namely: - Conservation, exposure, collecting, keeping track of exhibits, documentation, their restoration, scientific research;- Protection, development of owned heritage through exhibitions, publications and other forms of direct and indirect communication by visitors.

The influence of major geopolitical factors on a region's tourist industry and perception by tourists. Case study: Crimea

Periodically certain countries or regions of the world are affected by various types of political unrest, such as wars ‒ including civil, revolutions, power struggles etc. In some cases, these regions have significantly developed tourist industries. In case these political events are violent, the result is predictable: a complete or almost complete halt of tourism in the region, most often accompanied by the destruction of the tourist infrastructure. But when these events are not violent, the effects on tourism may vary. As of 2015, the Crimean Peninsula is one of Europe's geopolitical hotspots and one of the world's disputed territories. This reputation comes from the fact that in March 2014 the territory switched sovereignty from Ukraine to Russia, following what many other states have qualified as an invasion and/or an illegally-held referendum. The purpose of this article is to examine the effects this series of events has had on the area's tourist industry. The article features the results of a research based on a survey, which was meant to evaluate the respondents' perception of the region. This survey was conducted among subjects from numerous European and former Soviet countries. The results have shown that there are certain differences in the perception of Crimea between Europe and the former Soviet states. These differences have the potential to shape the tourist industry of the region in the near future.

Climate change and its effects on tourism. The case of Sardinia

Climate change or called "global warming", refers to the rise in average surface temperatures on Earth. Scientifics maintain that climate change is due primarily to the human use of fossil fuels, which releases carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the air. The gases trap heat within the atmosphere, which can have a range of effects on ecosystems. But the climate change can really influence the tourism in a specific area? The goals of this study is to present on the first part the cause and effects of climate change, taking into consideration the Case of Sardinia. First of all, I have wanted to show the Sardinia from historical, geographical, socio-economic point of view and the problem with the tourism. This situation has a strong effect in Sardinia, its climate is changing on coastal areas, and in fact are increasing the appearance of extreme events related to weather, sea storms, increased wave energy, the action of winds, rising sea levels, decreasing trend in rainfall and with the consequence reduction of the contribution of river sediments to the beaches. Why have I wanted to talk about Sardinia? Because it is a region that has much to offer, but for many reasons hasn't found a solution. The main problem as well as of the effects of climate change is the relationship with the tourism in high season. The tourism is concentrated only in one period, in the summer, this may mean that tourists don't visit the center areas to discover a less popular side of the island, which is characterized by its landscape, cultural heritage and traditions. We need to convince the tourists that exists other type of tourism, explore new culture and the adventure. In this way, Sardinia it must give itself the chance to open the road at winter tourism, and exploit of the nature offers.

Film Tourism – A successful journey for New Zealand. The steps towards being the world’s top film tourism destination

Film tourism is a phenomenon that has been emerging lately and. it brings a lot of benefits the filming location can take advantage of. This paper tries to present he impact that place-placement in a movie has on a destination and the key to the success of movie tourism. The data is gathered in a case study about New Zealand which is one of the best proofs of successfully influencing the influx of tourism through film tourism. All the information that was collected provides us with an inside view to the steps taken in order to increase the film tourism in this country. You can find out about the marketing activities and campaigns that sustain the image of New Zealand as the host country of the box offices The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. One must know that this linkage between New Zealand and these worldwide known movies has to be continuously supported and improved by help of the government and specialists.
